Our Story

When Simple Power was founded in 2010, Northern Ireland was producing less than 10% of its electricity from renewable sources.

Today that figure is closer to 30% and while the region still has some way to go to meeting its renewables target, we are proud of the role we are playing in reducing our dependence on imported fossil fuels through wind energy generation.

Simple Power works in partnership with farmers across Northern Ireland with several 250kW wind turbines situated on rural land. Our turbines feed into the local electricity grid to power homes and businesses throughout the country.

Unlike large wind farms, our single wind turbines are individually located in fields and farmland with providing local farmers with an additional source of income.

Our wind turbines are collectively providing Northern Ireland with approximately 10MW of clean energy with additional turbines currently under development.
